This article is a part of the series about your PRIMAL (Emotional) mind.
The 1rst article demonstrated how your PRIMAL (Emotional) is a MAJOR part of your brain architecture, you can read it to understand what you are made of.
The 2nd article introduced what are your PRIMAL (Emotional) functions & thought processes.

PRIMAL temperament feature # 1: Insecurity
PRIMAL – ALL or NOTHING Thinking
Situations are seen in :
β Black & white
β No silver linings
Examples: ALL or NOTHING Thinking:
– βEnd of the world !β π
– βThe best thing ever !!β π
Situations can often be perceived as :
β Catastrophic
β Short-sighted
β Framed as βWinners OR losersβ

PRIMAL paranoia (Not factual)
Seeks out threats & danger from situations/places with NO factual danger
Example: At work, the manager is doing an unannounced visit:
β Staff may worry about their job security (Threat detected by the personal alarm!)
β Is there FACTUAL reasons that threaten your job security? Underperformance, absences, β¦

PRIMAL temperament feature # 2: EGO invested
Self-centred – βAbout ME ?!β
The PRIMAL (emotional) mind brings ANY information for self-assessment:
β βIt is about ME ?!β
Example # 1: Self-centred –βAbout ME ?!β
Notice when you might say :
–βI like tea with milkβ
β In response, people may answer/think :
–βYeah, me tooβ OR
– βNo, I donβt like teaβ β¦
Example # 2: Self-centred – βAbout ME ?!β
– Have you ever heard people laughing when you are walking by?
– And then thought?
β βAre they laughing at me?β
This means that whenever someone is doing something :
β It is always about YOU & always about THEM

Self-serving – βME first !β
Your PRIMAL mind has an innate instinct to :
β Focus ONLY you!
β Have LOW/NO consideration for other’s needs
Self-righteous – βNot ME !β
The blame-shifting nature of the PRIMAL (emotional) goes along the lines of :
β βI am right, youβre wrong !β
β βItβs YOUR fault, not mine !!β
β βI am innocent, it is because of the othersβ
Examples: Self-righteous- βNot ME !β
– In a heated argument, parties would try to prove that the others are wrong & it is ALL the othersβ fault.
– Each party would claim to be βinnocentβ or βhave nothing to do with itβ

PRIMAL temperament feature # 3: Hedonistic
Act on IMPULSES
Actions & decisions are with :
– Focus on NOW β Short-term GAIN/PLEASURE
– Quick to judge/decide
– NO consideration for LATER/long term
– NO consideration for consequences
Examples: Act on IMPULSES
– Being so angry to argue with someone & eventually physically fight
– Wishing that person dead !!
– Overeating junk food: cookies, sweets β¦
– Binge drinking
– Unprotected intercourse (no precautions)

β No consideration of consequences:
– How you would feel after/the next day?
– What will be the impact on your physical & mental health?
Avoid PAIN & feel-good NOW
β Take the easiest path
β Take the path of the least resistance
β Make plans on what feels good immediately
Examples: Avoid PAIN & feel-good NOW
– Ordering takeaway in bed instead of standing up, cooking & washing the dishes afterwards
– Skipping the gym session to rest when rest is not needed!
